Coolants Disposal

 
 
Coolants, or Heat Transfer Fluids, are shipped for disposal by Greenleaf Environmental services. The coolant fluids for disposal are most often generated from the repair or refurbishing of HVAC, Chiller or Refrigeration Systems. These coolants fluids may be aqueous solutions of ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, corn glycol or other salt solutions. 
 
The coolant solutions can be shipped in pails, drums or totes for disposal by recycling or thermal destruction depending on the chemical composition of the solution.  Coolants can also be removed in bulk from a larger system in a building through the use of a bulk vacuum tank wagon. This can be effective for large volumes from office buildings, hospitals, power generation facilities and industrial plants.  

Coolants Disposal-other chemical wastes:

 
Other chemical wastes from coolant systems are also sent for disposal. Materials such as vacuum pump oils, refrigerant oils and cleaning agents used in coolant systems can be incinerated or aqueous treated for disposal purposes.
 
Coolants is a term used in the metal working industry for some materials that are synthetic organics or petroleum distillate based chemistries.  The coolants are used  with cutting tools or milling and machining operations in the processing of metals.  These types of "coolants" are shipped for disposal by recycling or incineration.
