Chemical Recycling

Greenleaf Environmental Services Inc. offers chemical recycling services as a method of chemical disposal for many chemical waste compositions.
Chemical materials may have liquid, sludge or solid physical characteristics. Chemical compositions may include organic or inorganic chemicals in aqueous solutions or non-aqueous solutions.

Organic solvents which are flammable may be recycled through their re-use as fuel at fuels blending operations. US EPA, for example, will permit waste solvents with high BTU per pound value to be fuels blended at Cement Kilns as a recycling method.

Universal wastes such as certain types of batteries, electronic equipment and monitors can be sent for disposal at recycling facilities.

Petroleum oil based materials, oil/water mixtures, motor oils, hydraulic oils, pump oils and some synthetic oils can be shipped for disposal at recycling facilities.

Certain glycols and glycol solutions such as spent antifreeze or chiller solutions are also shipped for disposal by recycling at facilities that specialize in such materials.

Inorganic chemical compounds and aqueous solutions, which contain precious metals, certain heavy metals and some other metals can be sent for disposal by chemical recycling at facilities that process material back to the original metal or to pt metal amalgams which are smelted for other uses.  Precious metals such as gold, silver, platinum and palladium are readily recycled. Other non-precious metal containing compounds and solutions with metals such as nickel, copper, tin and chromium are also sent for recycling. Certain compounds can be shipped for such recycling purposes whether they are hazardous, corrosive or non-hazardous.

Recycling of mercury containing compounds, debris, batteries and switches can be recycled at facilities with recycling retort operations.

Mundane items such as empty metal drums, totes and other size containers can be sent to recyclers for reconditioning and reuse.

Please call us with any questions concerning our chemical recycling services. Our friendly and dedicated staff is eager to find you the right solution for all of your chemical recycling needs.
